George Hackney

With humble beginnings and a hands-on work ethic, George established Hackney Nursery with a clear purpose: to grow high-quality plants while cultivating long-term relationships rooted in trust, integrity, and hard work.

Over the decades, George has guided the Hackney Nursery's growth with an unwavering commitment to excellence, sustainability, and service. His horticultural knowledge and entrepreneurial spirit shaped the nursery’s core values, values that continue to guide the business today. From field-grown trees to container production, George’s influence can be seen in every corner of the operation.

Though now enjoying a well-earned shift into an advisory role, George remains an active presence at the nursery, offering mentorship, sharing wisdom, and continuing to inspire the next generation of growers.

George Hackney’s legacy is one of dedication, innovation, and a lifelong love of growing, a legacy that lives on through the people and plants of Hackney Nursery.
